Using Medicinal Plants among Patients with Cardiovascular Diseases and Their Related Factors: A Cross-Sectional Study

Introduction: The use of medicinal plants (MP) is increasing among the general population and patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Simultaneous MP cardiac medications can cause drug interactions serious complications. Objective: This study aimed to determine frequency its related factors CVD. Materials Methods: cross-sectional was conducted on 200 CVD in 2018. were consecutively recruited from care clinic an Educational Medical Center Kashan City, Iran. data collected using questionnaire, belief attitudes about herbal medicine inventory. For analysis, logistic regression analysis performed. Results: mean ± SD age participants 56.91±10.64 years. Their time passed diagnosis 8.30±9.07 over past year 90.5% (95% CI; 86.4%–94.6%). significant female gender (OR = 4.80, 95% 1.43–16.1, P 0.011), positive family history 8.84, 2.62–29.86, 0.0001), knowledge 1.93, 1.13–3.30, 0.017).
